On the Rooney front, its his 4th metatarsal, not quite as bad as the 5th metatarsal he broke in 2004 and is estimated 6 weeks. Take into account he is gonna want to recover asap, we wont need him to cruise through the group stages, and sven would push him out in a wheelchair if he had to and I think we will be ok! KEEP THE FAITH ENGLAND FANS!!!

i wouldn't have bet on england before rooney got injured and now i wouldn't touch them with a bardge pole. the only reason they have any chance of getting through the group stages is 'cause their group is so easy. maybe if they had a better manager they would have a minute glimmer of hope, but they don't.

I wouldn't be too sure that he is not English, have a look at how this thread started. You don't have to be non-english to play down the chances of england , I have always suspected it is somewhat a national hobby to run down your own country...
