Ok there were 6 of us that came from Halifax on 7th June and left on the 12th. Our aim was to go there, have a good laugh, drink plenty of beer and watch footy.
We got to Mucke train station at 12noon so was a good time and got picked up an hour later. (Not that great but we had a footy with us so just kicked around till it arrived). Got there and got a good pitch and decided we would go buy some beer. Bernie's brother took us to the shop and we asked him if we could by bottles as they didn't sell cans. He said yes so we bought two crates and he bought one for himself. We got back to the camp and security wouldn't let us in. Hense we got the security guys to take photo's of us whilst the other guys sneeked the bottles in, haha ENGLAND 1 v 0 POLAND! A couple of days later, the shoop started selling cands so things wernt too bad. The lack of food was a problem so had chicken nuggets and chips for a few days before buying a bbq, again not allowed but no one stoped us, ENGLAND 2 v 0 POLAND!
We realised that the whole place was quite un organised and things wernt even set up on the 9th! Here are a few positives and negatives of the remainder of our trip.
-The swimming pool wasnt very gud at all, but because we are yorkshire folk, we bit the bullet and used it daily anyway. It became better as the week moved on.
+ long walk to the footy pitch but when we got there, plenty of people to gave a game with. On the last day, us 6 played against 6 aussies, in which we won of course pissed up...just!!!
- One of us had a really deep cut into his arm so went to reception to call ambulance. Cost of 100euro and then would take an hour to arrive (Bernie's words) We opted for a taxi...1hr 15mins to arrive(worse than england...just) and 50euro. The hospital wanted to charge 100euro too so we nicked a bandage and left.
+The beer. I dont know what people are on about. We really liked the german beer and yeh it was a bit expensive in the small bar but if you took your glass back then it wasn't too bad
-There is one absolute TWAT there. Smashing up a table in the smaller beer tent. running round like a monkey. Blood pouring from him all the time. What a nobhead!
+Athmosphere. Even tho ten german bombers got sung every other song, the singing of the england fans was first class
+The sweedish and aussie fans took quite a bit of stick but took it well.
All in all, we made the best of what was there. We dint want luxary but left happy coz we all had a funny time!Streaking round the campsite by the shower block was funny too at 4am!
Also, look out for some garden nomes(dont know how to spell that), we collected 4 haha!
Also transfers to the game apparently were ok, we paid for them but chose to use the free trains, quicker and set off earlier from mucke!
One final thing, FAN FEST WAS WICKED!!!!
Oh Hali Hali, Hali Hali Hali Hali Halifax!!!
